Great News

I was out in the hills in Caravaca de la Cruz today with some friends when I took a phone call from the Town Hall at about 3.0pm saying that they had heard Candido had been released but had no further details or any information about then others.

I was not expecting to hear anything until Saturday at the earliest as they had authority to hold them all until at least 8.0am Saturday.

There were 3 possible outcomes 1. Charged and remanded in custody, 2. Charged and or bailled with the deposit of a sizeable sum of money or 3. Release without any bail or money being paid.

As we hoped and expected it was the latter and by 6.0pm I had it confirmed that all 6 men had been released free of bail or any other conditions. Everyone is delighted.

I do not suppose that the excellent turnout at the demo had anything to do with it but at least I think it will make those who did feel kinda good.

I have asked if it is possible for all the Partido Andalucista councillors to get together so that we can be debriefed on exactly what the allegations were. I suppose for the moment both Candido and Manolo will be just happy to be back with their families. I do not of course know whether he will want to continue in politics but I for one hope he does.
